About Todd

The guy behind the counter is the guy who builds your frame.

Twenty-plus years, one workbench.

Todd Holben grew up in the Midwest and came up through the visual side of the working world — ad agencies first, then color management for a greeting card company, then years of retouching work for major printers across the country.

For the last two decades he's run his own commercial photography company, PhotoGraphics LLC, serving clients around Charlotte. Somewhere along the way, the framing bug bit — and it bit hard.

H&H Custom Framing is where all of it lands: the color eye from the retouching years, the photographer's sense of presentation, and a woodshop where frames get built from raw lumber instead of ordered from a catalog.

When you bring a piece into the shop, you're talking to the person who will print it, mat it, frame it, and hand it back to you. That's not a slogan. It's just how the shop works.

What that background gets you

A color expert's eye

Years of color management and retouching mean your prints come out right — and your mat and frame colors actually work with the art, not against it.

A photographer's presentation sense

Twenty years of commercial photography teaches you how a piece should sit on a wall. That instinct goes into every framing decision.

A woodworker's hands

The frames are milled, joined, and finished in-house. When the person designing your frame is also the person building it, nothing gets lost in translation.
